The Real Problems

Here is a scream from a friend of mine. I like it and I hope you do too.

Professional Football Head Injuries.

Last night on the evening news Congress was shown meeting to discuss head injuries in professional football. Now maybe it is just me but I seem to remember that we are in the worst depression since the great depression of the 30’s.

Professional Football involves a lot of very rich men who get tax breaks to build stadiums and pay players huge amounts of money. Now the number of people who will ever play pro football is pretty far down on the list of job opportunities. I’m sure we have lots more cab drivers and bellhops but are we doing studies on them?

I guess the reason our government can’t fix any of the problems in this country is because they can’t keep their eye on the ball. Put people to work you IDIOTS!

We have people all through this country looking for work. With these people being out of work States are all hurting for money. I would think that the priority would be to get people back to work. I guess I’m wrong, head injuries in pro football players are much more important.

Ross Perot told us years ago that the sucking sound we heard was our jobs being sent overseas. I guess he was right. It amazes me how we can come up with the ideas, supply all the raw materials, send them overseas, send the finished product back and still have it cost less than if we did it here. I would bet the guys that figured all this out were Ex Pro Football players who had too many shots to the head.

So you know I do have sympathy for the football players. I played in college and was knocked out more times than I want to remember. In those days they put you right back in the game when you woke up. Today I suffer seizures under periods of high stress because of the dried blood on my brain. We played eight games a year when I played. Today they play fourteen, just think what these young men will be like in their later years.

Well my eye is off the ball. We need jobs in this country and we need people at work. There are lots of things that need to be done and I believe Congress would be a lot more effective working on our real problems.
